Fresh brow tinting looks great and there’s nothing quite like the feeling of new, beautiful brows. Unfortunately, though, tinting won’t last indefinitely and many people are surprised to discover their new brow tint fading within days because they didn’t follow the right aftercare practices.
After a brow tinting, there are a few things you can do to ensure that your tint by your Orlando brow specialist lasts as long as possible.
Brow tints can withstand water, but within the first twelve hours after your tint, you should avoid showering or getting your new brows wet. This will allow the tint enough time to settle in.
Similarly, don’t rub your face. If you wash your face after your tint, ensure you don’t rub at your brows roughly as this can make your tint fade faster.
Everyone likes a beach day or a nice walk in the sun, but you should avoid exposing your freshly tinted brows to direct sunlight for a few days. It’s alright if you’re out in the sun for a little while, but avoid sunbathing or any direct exposure to sunlight to reduce the fading of your tint.
When you are out in the sun, remember to apply sunscreen, even on your brows! This will protect your brows from UV rays. Additionally, a hat and sunglasses can help protect your brows from fading.
Exfoliating is very satisfying as you remove dead skin cells, but it can also remove the tint from your brows. No, you don’t have to avoid exfoliating forever, but wait at least two or three days. You’re free to exfoliate your face and neck, but when possible, try to avoid the areas between and around your brows.
This same advice goes for any other harsh skincare products you may use. Some makeup removers can also remove and fade your brow tint, so be careful what you rub over or on your brows.
Just like your skin, your brows need hydration too. Whether you use a serum or a moisturizer, be sure to give your brows the hydration they need to stay healthy and moisturized. This will prevent your brow hairs from falling out sooner rather than later and can prolong the amount of time your tint lasts.
There’s been some advice about what to avoid on your brows, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t clean your brows. To keep your brows healthy, be sure to clean them frequently. Use an oil-free cleanser to reduce the risk of removing your tint and don’t scrub them. Just gently cleanse and pat them dry.
Brow tinting is a great way to get beautiful, perfect brows without having to draw them in every day. We get it, there’s a lot more to keep in mind once you tint your brows than you probably anticipated but it’s all worth the work! Even if you do have to switch cleansers or postpone your beach day, tinting is still a great choice for many people.
