Clients usually come in for lash fills about every 2-3 weeks. We shed our natural lashes at a rate of about 2-5 a day per eye, so by 2-3 weeks you will have lost approximately 50% of your extensions. Good retention also depends on aftercare, skin type and lifestyle.
Your first appointment for your full set will take approximately 2 hours from start to finish. Refills are quicker and cheaper, about an hour.
When choosing your lash style keep in mind you are only selecting how FULL you want them to appear, or how many lashes we apply. Classic Sets are best for those who have a lot of natural lashes and want a more natural look, adding length but not fullness. Hybrid Sets are wispier, adding fullness without being too dramatic. Volume Sets are best for clients wanting darker and fluffier lashes, or for those who are sparse naturally. Once you choose your level of fullness, we can do any length or shape. Any product containing oil is the enemy of lash extensions, as oil will break down the adhesive. Make sure any make up you use near your eye is oil free! We do not recommend wearing mascara with extensions as it can clump up the fans and damage the lashes during make up removal.
One of the best things about having lash extensions is that it creates a darkened lash line, creating an eyeliner effect. If you still feel the need to wear eyeliner, we recommend using an oil-free liquid liner which is gentler in application to your lash line. Remember to also be careful with serums, moisturizers, sunscreen & setting spray near the eye area as the oils in these products can transfer to your lashes. Moisturizers should never touch your top eyelid!
The adhesive takes at least 24 hours to cure after your lash appointment. During this time, it is important to avoid showering and excessive touching/brushing of your lashes. After 48 hours you may begin washing your lashes at least 2-3 times per week with a gentle oil free cleanser. Keeping your extensions clean is essential for both lash retention and eye health. Brushing them once a day helps keep them fluffy and shapely. We will also provide a detailed Aftercare pamphlet for you to take home after your service.
Make sure you arrive to your lash appointment with no eyeliner or mascara. Keep in mind that you will not be able to shower for 24 hours after your appointment. The cleaner your lashes, the better the extensions will adhere to your natural lash. Make sure you are using an oil-free product to clean your lashes. You may arrive early to your appointment if you need to use our lash bath station, which is equipped with oil-free products.
Avoid consuming caffeine before your lash appointment, as it can cause fluttering eyelids and make it difficult to apply the extensions.
Most people find lash services to be very relaxing! Feel free to bring headphones for listening to music/podcasts, chat with your artist or simply take a nap. We won’t judge you if you snore!
